1JZ 2JZ multi-plate clutch series is specifically engineered for vehicles with significantly enhanced engine power. Its cast aluminum housing delivers a more direct clutch pedal feel, while the unique leverage mechanism of the diaphragm spring ensures smooth engagement and reduces overall pedal effort.
Designed for heavily modified engines, the 1JZ 2JZ multi-plate clutch features a 215mm dampened hub disc capable of reliably handling high torque loads. The aluminum housing provides increased clamping force (enhancing load-bearing capacity) and withstands the intense demands of track driving conditions.
Clutch upgrades typically consist of a kit of multiple key components, rather than a single part.
1. Clutch Disc
This is the core of the system, responsible for transmitting power through friction.
We use ceramic discs, which feature an extremely high friction coefficient and superior high-temperature resistance.
Suitable for extreme competition use, such as professional drag racing or drifting, with horsepower ratings reaching 800 hp and above.
Structure: Utilizes multiple alternately stacked friction and drive plates. This design provides a significantly larger friction surface area within the same diameter, enabling the clutch to withstand extremely high torque. Pedal effort is usually relatively light, but engagement is very direct and rapid.
2. Pressure Plate
Responsible for applying clamping force to the clutch disc. The goal of performance upgrades is to increase this clamping force.
3. Flywheel
The rotating inertial component that transmits engine power.
Lightweight Flywheel:
Characteristics: Reduces rotational mass, thereby lowering the engine's moment of inertia.
Advantages: Faster engine revving (acceleration and deceleration), resulting in highly responsive throttle reaction.
Disadvantages: Potential for unstable idle, requires more skillful clutch engagement during low-speed driving, and reduces engine braking (inertial coasting) effect.
Materials: Typically made of chrome molybdenum steel or alloy steel. Competition-grade versions may use aluminum alloy flywheels (lighter but with a shorter service life).
Advantage
The ultimate performance designed for competition
The advantages of this combination (ceramic multi-disc clutch + lightweight flywheel) are to extract the fastest speed and the most reliable power transmission on the racetrack.
